I am sure you have heard the word poltergeist. In the paranormal world, this is one kind of entity you must never provoke. And most of you must have a working idea about what it basically means. No? Okay! Well, then buckle up, because this is going to be a ride. In this excerpt, we will understand poltergeist meaning and why is it important to stay away from them.
Meaning of a Poltergeist
The meaning of word Poltergeist signifies a ghost that is noisy. This essentially means that a poltergeist is someone who has the ability to move certain objects and do all sorts of things involving misplacement. All this is aggressive in nature in the paranormal universe. They are a type of ghost most people are scared of since they can physically hurt you by moving things. People also end up getting hurt due to the shock they feel after watching their things get displaced.
There is a sense of belief among a lot of people that a poltergeist is found around teenagers, especially teenage girls. Then there are those who believe that poltergeists are found around basically anyone with unconcluded emotional problems. However, there is a general consensus among people that poltergeists cling to negative people and entities.
I believe in everything above but I would like to add more to it. My experience has shown me that whenever I’ve been in closer proximity to a poltergeist, there has been a very heavy concentration of energy present. This energy can be anger, revolt, sadness, etc. This energy is too much to contain and it sometimes bursts only to turn the atmosphere negative.
Negative Entities are Drawn Towards Negative Feelings
One thing in common with most of the ghosts or such supernatural entities is that the more negative they are, the more they are drawn towards these evil and negative feelings. For a ghost who is just travelling through space and time, these kinds of emotions or feelings are too much to handle so they prefer to stay away. Therefore, negative paranormal activity is always proportional to negative emotions.
Even if the ghost is drawn towards such an energy, it might not know how to tackle or play with the opportunity. But, for a demon, this is the perfect opportunity to pronounce. They are always on the lookout for such an opportunity and they like to feed on people who are feeling these sort of emotions. Their main aim during this time is to create maximum fear and anxiety among their prey.
Hence, you might notice things and objects moving erratically, things being thrown, loud noises and even ominous growls. Also, there is a risk of coming under attacks that are physical in nature. The thing to note here is that it all depends upon how destructive the paranormal entity wants to be.
My first poltergeist experience
Let me tell you a story about my first poltergeist experience. I was 10 years old. My family had just shifted to a new place. The house was kind of old but it was well kept. My friend who visited me regularly was a psychic and he always acted strange when he entered my house. I remember the first time when he came to my new house, his face suddenly changed when he saw the door open.
He was always reluctant to come to my house. Later, when we left the house, we came to know from one of our old neighbours that the house was haunted. Then I remembered all those instances of doors bashing and the voices calling my name. I also remember one summer night, I was asleep. Suddenly I woke up in the middle of the night to see my tape recorder switched on and frequencies of the FM radio changing on their own. I was really scared that night. So, Yes…sometimes these strange events happen.
My Advice – Stay Away
My next poltergeist experience happened when I was around 17 years old. It was a different house – that of my classmate but had rampant paranormal activity. I used to study late at night for my board exams. It was around 4 AM when I saw a shadow pass through the door of my room and then the door closing by itself. I felt a very strong sense of negativity and a chill ran through my spine. This continued to happen a few more times. Sometimes, it was the noise and sometimes I woke up at night only to see my study table shaking. It was surreal and I pray no one has to go through that.
My life during those days was very downcast. The feeling of evil and negativity was like a plague that just multiplied in that house. There was anxiety, confusion, and a sense of dejection among all of us in the house. And the funniest part is that we all thought it was due to the excessive stress on account of our board exams. It was a really tough time. In such a situation things could have gotten worse. I still believe that there was someone, a higher power or authority who was protecting me from evil and that is the reason why there was no physical damage rendered to me or to my classmate/friends family.
To Conclude
When I look back, I realize that the attempt by negatives to scare or dishearten me from using my gift was foiled away by someone who was protecting me and keeping me away from evil. It might be the divine forces I pry upon or an angel or it might be my guiding spirits. I am not sure. Summing up, what I have seen and known about a poltergeist is that they are someone who has the ability to displace physical objects and that they are drawn towards people who are vulnerable. They feed on the weak and are in search of souls that can be scared and manipulated. The more scared you get the stronger they become. Also, they like to destroy or mess with your belongings. Now you know the meaning of poltergeist and why you should stay away. Over the last 25 years, I’ve had many experiences with poltergeists, but I exactly know how to handle these situations. And if you are not trained, I suggest you back off.
