Now, just getting a camera to hunt ghost is not enough for a paranormal expert. Because to capture the best ghost photos, you will need to follow the right camera procedure. In addition, your approach needs to be suitable if you aim to get any results. In this excerpt, we will look at the correct camera procedure to get the best results.
Camera procedures to Capture Ghost Photos
The first and foremost advice that I would like to put forward is – try following your gut instincts when capturing ghost photos. If you have a psychic or a medium in your group, it is imperative that you click pictures around that person. And more so if the psychic or the medium says that they feel a presence.
The purpose of clicking pictures is to gather anomalies in order to present evidence. Here is a little trick you can use when you feel a presence around you. If you are too afraid or hesitant to turn back, place the camera on your shoulder and face it backwards. Snap a quick shot. This is an instrumental technique since you can get all the evidence you need without facing back.
There is a correct way to use flash as well. So for a flash to be useful, you need to have a certain distance, typically, fifteen feet. Hence, if you are in a graveyard or cemetery and wish to take a picture of the tombstone or mausoleum, you need to have the correct distance. If you capture photos from more than fifteen feet, it will be challenging to view them. It could also be a bit washed out, as well as any anomalies present. If you wish to exemplify the distance, you will need an add-on device. Therefore, a flash attachment comes in very handy if you are looking to increase your range.
Ghost Photos – Validate and Debunk
Now, while capturing ghost photos, it is important to validate and debunk them at the same time to narrow down the sceptics. We have already talked about orbs in a previous blog. Just to brush you up, an orb is also known as a ball of light as it has a glow in it and is spherical. People believe that orbs contain the energy of the people who have died and are the remnants of what they used to be. There are numerous ways to determine if that flash of light is an orb or just the usual lens flare when we talk of orbs.
We recommend using two to three traditional film cameras or digital cameras if you wish to validate or debunk the orbs. The cameras need to be of the same model, and it’s better if you get the wireless ones in place of the wires cameras for ghost photos. Now, carefully place all two or three cameras on a tripod. Next, place them at different angles in the very same room. You should make sure that all the cameras will cover each other, meaning that all of them will overlap, giving you the same shot but from a different viewpoint. Using a remote system that you can buy and hook up to your cameras, you can take pictures simultaneously.
How to Debunk or Validate an Orb?
Orbs are quite evident. But most of the time, what one captures in a ghost photo is not always an orb. It can be visual anomalies. It can be a smudge on the camera lens itself. Or the result of inclement weather, a drop of water on the lens, or a bug. So it is important to debunk and validate when it comes to orbs.
Well, if there are two or three shots of an orb from two or three different cameras simultaneously, it’s hard to debunk it that way. The chances of having a smudge or a drop of moisture at the same angle on all the cameras are astronomical. Also, if it’s a moving orb and all the cameras capture it as it’s moving from three different angles, again, it’s hard to debunk.
Human Factor in Ghost Photos
Here’s another one using the same setup that I mentioned above but including the human factor. This is a rarity, but it is more common if some of your team members are mediums. Just consider a paranormal expert taking these pictures and doing a routine investigation in the room. Suddenly, one paranormal expert says that he or she was just touched, and that same moment unknowingly you record on all your cameras in that direction. Later in the footage, you see an orb or orbs were near or touching that particular member at the same time. To me, that is proof that that “thing” could have been a real spirit orb.
You now have two separate pieces of evidence from the same time, with which you can prove that something out of the normal happened. It could be paranormal. It is hard for a scientific person to debunk these two methods when I have that kind of information. I’m sure there are other ideas out there that people can come up with to help debunk the debunkers. This is another reason we should all be working together as one, not separate and hiding our ideas and methods like a top-secret plan to take over the world.
Try Talking If You Wish to Get a Picture
This might sound a little silly but talk to the ghost when you are looking to get ghost photos. Well, I will guide you through what I think is the right procedure and also respectful. Let’s say you enter an area that you want to photograph, such as a cemetery or a dwelling, just follow these easy steps:
Take a stroll through the area for about ten to fifteen minutes before doing anything else. This will help you get an idea of the structure that you as a paranormal expert are going to investigate. Always pray. Never let anything negative come to mind. I think we have already established that negative entities feed off negative thoughts and emotions. And I believe you don’t really want that. Now, do you? As soon as you are thorough walking, you can’t start. Introduce yourself. It is very important. Recite the following or something similar: “Hi, my name is _______.
The next step is to let them know of your reasons for visiting. Say that you wish to take some pictures of any ghosts/spirits here to show and document life after death. Also, be respectful and emphasize that you have only the best of intentions. That you are not there to do any harm, and that you will only be here long enough to use some of our equipment that we have brought to prove that you exist, and then we will leave. After making this clear, proceed to click on your ghost photos.
Once you complete the paranormal investigation, say thanks before leaving. “On the way out, stop one last time and say, “Thank you so much for putting up with me and my team or group. We enjoyed being here in your company and are very grateful for any photos you have allowed us to have of you. Thanks again.”
