Although these devices come with substantial price tags, if you can afford them, think no further. These come in very handy for any ghost hunter. If I did extensive ghost hunting today and could afford it, I would always have one of these with me. For years, I’ve been told by those in spirit who might know such things that psychic communication and electricity travel on remarkably similar wavelengths with very similar frequencies.
Since spirit boxes often scan several different radio stations very rapidly, which are also very frequency-reliant, you’ll get results. What a colossal game-changer this invention is. In truth, though, almost anything that is either plugged into a wall or charged up with little energy bundles called batteries makes spirit communication far easier to both experience and catch.
A Digital Recording Device
When you’re trying to catch something as subtle as most moans, groans, squeaks, and even the majority of EVP, you need as little interference as possible. Therefore, a digital device is a “must-have” to get the clearest and the most accurate recording and feedback. Make sure to use a digital recorder with a USB port so you can upload the recording to your computer afterwards. It enables you to delete some of the background noise, increase the volume, and clean up the recording a bit so you can hear everything.

I’ve often found that infrared is imperative in catching shadows, as sometimes it’s tough to tell when something looks darker than the rest of the dark you’re already experiencing. Hence, far too often, we tend to dismiss shadows as a trick of our eyes or something we imagined. At least I know I have. Therefore, night vision is nearly imperative for shadows and shadow figures if you’re ever to be sure of exactly what you saw. Again popping in a USB port might be a good idea.
Ghost Hunting Equipment – Camera
Cameras pick up things that our human eyes either can’t or don’t see. Again, sometimes that’s mainly because the higher frequency ranges that ghosts and spirit energies vibrate are often outside our normal sight range. Also, since we can’t look everywhere simultaneously, we will miss some things if we don’t have cameras.
Plus, in those times where we think we saw something but can’t be sure, cameras allow us the freedom to go back and see if our brief glimpses were of anything substantial or just some more of us peripherally matrix. Again, provided we turned and clicked. Let me add here, too, that the higher up in the spirit realm a spirit is, the higher the frequency it vibrates at. What I mean by that is this, even though ghosts often vibrate higher than our regular sight and hearing range, they are still earthbound.
As such, their frequency is lower than a soul who has transcended to the other side and is only visiting a place, versus haunting it, as in a loved one or spirit guide. Often, if some spirit who has already transitioned over to the other side is visiting, the only way we catch them is through audio, video, and pictures. Mainly due to the frequency involved.
Ghost Hunting Equipment – Mel Meter
It offers you visual proof of temperature fluctuations right when you physically feel the energy and temperature variations. Ghosts do suck up energy, after all, to manifest. This is true regardless of whether they manifest visually, verbally, or using the energy to create sounds and move objects. Thus, the Mel Meter will allow you to discern whether the sensations you’re experiencing are coming from electrical overloads or are truly paranormal via verifiable temperature readings.
Ghost Hunting Equipment – Batteries
Sized to all the different sizes of equipment you take, Bring an extra pair of batteries. Ghosts will drain batteries. Even when I’m doing nothing more than my regular psychic/medium readings, a battery-operated clock in my home office gets exhausted so often that people have bought me new clocks, thinking my old one was bad. It is easy for the ghosts to manipulate the lights on the KII to communicate. Again, the more comfortable we make it for the ghost to communicate, the more they usually do. I’d use at least one solely for testing the ghosts. I’m sure you’ve seen it, but I’ll repeat it here: You turn your flashlight on, unscrew the top of the flashlight until the light slightly goes out, but only to the point that it would take just the smallest iota of movements to have the light come back on.
Then start asking questions that require yes and no answers, with a yes response being verified every time the flashlight comes back on. This allows whatever is in the room with you to use very little of its own amassed energy to communicate with you. It makes it easy for them. It also ups the possibilities.
Ghost Hunting Equipment – Laser Grid Equipment
They are powerhouses at catching things you’d generally miss entirely. My senses help me sort of automatically become aware of different highly active places within any establishment. I know many people who don’t claim to be psychic but do ‘sense’ many things. These are the places I’d for a particular place, a laser grid.

They pick up images at both ends of the light spectrum and are usually UV & IR sensitive. Meaning, they allow us to view all sorts of light ranges not typically visible with the human eye. Thus, they pick up things we miss entirely without them.
