In the last four blogs, we have looked at several cases of possession. In each of those cases, we have determined the reasons behind it and witnessed how multiple spirits can possess a person at the same time. The last of our real possession stories is going to be on the case of my client, Paarth Mehta. As a paranormal consultant and psychotherapist in India, this was a tough nut to crack. Want to know how? Well, read on!
Real Possession Stories – The Curious Case of Paarth Mehta
After taking his wife’s advice, Paarth Mehta decided to give me a visit. For the past few years, Paarth has had a tough life and was unable to accomplish any of his goals. So, when he came in that day, the first thing that he said was, “All my problems started at fifteen-before that, I was fine! I went to Italy for one year, and everything changed for the worse.” He felt as if he lost all the self-confidence and self-discipline he had. “I didn’t study, I didn’t do well. Since then, I’ve had lots of problems. I don’t understand it. That’s why I’m here.”
Often in real possession stories, we have seen how easily negativity and bad attract spirits. So, I asked him what had happened. Paarth was an Anglo-Indian. The mother’s side of his family was settled in Italy. Therefore, he had quite a few years there. To provide him a chance to excel in his studies, his parents decided to send him to Italy. He was told it would be good for him to practice his Italian and get to know his family before they died.
After spending a bit of time in Italy, Paarth noticed that he somewhere was losing interest in everything. He was unable to motivate himself and unable to focus. Things were quickly going haywire for him. But what was bothering him was his situation now. He was drinking excessively and was often not in control of his actions. Every evening he wrestled with the decision whether to go home to his family or to stay in a motel. If he stayed, he felt guilty. If he went, he hated the confrontations with his wife. In his business dealings, he was fearful and lacked self-confidence one day, while the next day he was full of new plans and optimism.
His Wayward Behaviour Was Having an Effect on His Marriage
Day by day his behaviour was getting wayward. As a paranormal explorer and psychotherapist, India, I knew these were very obvious signs in real possession stories. Because of this, his relationship with his wife of 23 years, Karya, was getting strained. In fact, Paarth confessed that there have been several instances when they have split and at one instance they were close to filing a divorce. He further stated that he did not understand the reason behind this. When I asked how he felt about his wife, he said that he had a lot of respect for her. This was also compromising their intimacy. He added that he drank to escape the anxiety of all the failed attempts and to avoid going home.
Alcohol seemed to be a bigger problem like in real possession stories. As a paranormal expert in Chennai, India, I understood that Paarth was not willing to admit that he had a drinking problem. He confessed that he had even blacked out during the last year. When his business occasionally faltered, he would turn to drink to boost his morale. He was arrested a year ago for drunk driving. Somehow, the fine, driving school and the police record motivated him to discipline himself. It worked. He stopped drinking completely. Then he found he was able to follow a low-calorie diet. Easily dropping18kgs, he felt terrific and energetic. He maintained the new weight and his self-esteem soared.
Real Possession Stories: The Business Was Going Downhill
One of his areas of concern was how he was handling his business. It seemed to be going downhill. He was exceptional with his customers. But he had these sudden outbursts of rage. “I start a project and get real excited and am sure this time it will work out. Then, an overwhelming feeling undermines all my confidence and enthusiasm. I scrap the plan and tum to booze. It happens over and over. The worst part is I know I have the ability to be a success.”
Because I was suspicious that like real possession stories, his problem may be a spirit, so I asked him his feelings when he drank. As a paranormal consultant, it is important to assess every fact. Maybe now the picture was getting clear. He said, “My goal is getting people to like me. When I drink, I’m the life of the party with everyone-but Karya. I get even madder at her!” At this point, I let him know that the reason behind this may be spirits. In addition, I told him that there may be more than one spirit possessing him.
Paarth had believed in entities all his life, as did his family. He said that real possession stories had often interested him. He told me that the area in which he now was living was full of bad vibrations. There had been many deaths, suicides, people becoming alcoholics–and even sightings of ghosts in the old, nearby cemetery. His daughter often rode her horse by the graveyard, and on several occasions, she saw a girl spirit. When she did, both she and her horse always became “spooked.”
Real Possession Stories: Paarth’s First Session
Even when I suggested many spirits possessing him, I saw that Paarth was intrigued. However, I did not find it odd at the time. So, I began our first session. He appeared to go into a beautiful trance, completely releasing all the tensions that had been so obvious minutes before. As soon as the therapy session started, I immediately heard an angry voice saying “I’m not going anywhere!” The voice was booming and thick-tongued, as though he were drunk. I asked who he was and why he was here. He told me that he hates Karya, Paarth’s wife and therefore, he did not wish to go there.
Like in real possession stories, this spirit – Raj was unaware that he was dead and causing not only Paarth but also Karya harm by possessing him. We set up an appointment for two days later. I suggested he share the taped conversation with his wife. I assumed it would help her to understand what she had been coping with, and he would be able to get feedback from her. He left expressing his encouragement and optimism.
Real Possession Stories: Paarth’s Second Session
When Paarth came to my office the next day, he told me that he was feeling great. But last night he had this urge to see me and he did not know why. So, we started our session and I asked the spirit Raj if it was him who wanted to see me so urgently. So I tried communicating with Raj. He told me that he wanted to learn more about what happened to him and how did he end up there. I told him that he had been with Paarth since he was probably about fifteen years old and he’s grown up now. He’s a grown man, fifty years old. And he has a nice face, but it’s not your face.
So I asked Raj to relax. You have to realize that it’s you in somebody else’s body. I told him that it was very important that he understood. You saw that face, but it’s not your face, and you felt my hand on the head that you felt was your head and you realize it’s not your head. Now, the most important thing that you can learn that anybody can learn: that I can learn, that Paarth can learn, -is that what we’ve been taught about death is a myth. Life does continue after death, but the body does die. Your own body died. But you didn’t die. Do you understand that now?
Therapy and Realization
So I asked Raj to look at the body he was possessing. Often in real possession stories, you will see that once the spirit realizes that he is possessing someone, then it departs. So, I was hoping that even Raj will depart after realizing that he has already died. Now you’re beginning to accept the idea that you are no longer in your body and that you’re in Paarth’s body. Okay. Are you also accepting the idea that there’s no such thing as the death of a person? Only death of a body.
So I said, “Now I’d like you to take a look at this body you’re in. Open your eyes and look down at it. Look at the hands. Look at the shape. Is this your own body as you remember it?” Raj said no. I asked him to think about his mother but he started crying. He was unwilling to accept it at first. However, he later started crying after realizing that his mom was there. I tried to make him walk towards his mother, to the light. But he was hesitant and outrightly refused. I knew this one was going to be a tough nut to crack. So even I had made up my mind that I will make this right.
The Spirit Was Putting In a Fight
The minute you step into that light, you’re going to find yourself in a body. I told me as a paranormal expert in Chennai, India. You’ll be twenty-five years old; would you like that? You don’t have to. I told you, I’m not going to make an effort to force you. If you want to go, you can give it a try. If you don’t like it, Paarth will let you come back. Well, I’m going to ask him to let you come back. I know that when you go into that life, no way you’d come back here. Why would you trade a fifty-year-old body for a twenty-five-year-old one-somebody else’s body for your own?
I know that you are not going to want to come back. It’s the last thing you’re ever going to want to do, because you ‘II have your own body, it will be strong and healthy. You don’t have to. Would you like us to just-you don’t want to take me up on this deal today, right? I told him that he was inside somebody else’s body. And if he had gone to the spirit world, then it would not have been the case. “And there’s only one thing that you have to do, the simplest thing in the world. You just have to open up your mind. I know you’re tough, but you like to think of yourself as open-minded, don’t you? All right, now I want you to look at the evidence. I’m not going to talk you into anything. I told him that all his family was waiting for him.
Real Possession Stories: Paarth’s Third Session
Paarth was happy with the positive changes he had been observing during the past week. Counting on his fingers, he started listing the improvements. “The drive to eat is not there. The drive to drink is nonexistent. Lots more positive feelings toward Karya. I even like going home at night. More efficient in all areas.” He felt he had better control now, which he attributed to his knowledge of what was going on. He felt that the idea of possession explained a lot that was inexplicable before.
So, he recalled that the previous Friday night after finishing up at work, he had made up his mind to go home. He then had the strongest urge to stop and have a drink. Being firm in his decision not to give Raj what he wanted, he said aloud, “No, you don’t! I’m not giving you anything!” He then drove off to take care of an errand.
After finishing-as he walked toward his car he noticed the headlights were on. He distinctly remembered turning them off after parking the car. He explained that since two-lane roads were dangerous, he had a habit of driving with the lights on, and always turned them off automatically-he had for years. “I guess somebody thought if the battery was run down, I wouldn’t be able to go home . . . It must be Raj. He sure hates Karya!” he exclaimed.
The Stubborn Spirit
I quickly asked Paarth to let me start the therapy since Raj was creating a lot of problems for him. In real depossession stories, it is often two or more spirits possessing the client. However, in this case, it was just a single spirit who will just not leave. So, I talked to Raj about the beautiful life he would have, and how he would be able to rest and be with loved ones. I soothed him and tried to help him recognize familiar faces among those who were there. He was too frantic. I suggested that he progressively relax “his” body. He quieted down and appeared much calmer.
Then I explained that leaving was the easiest thing he could do. I told him that a lovely person was putting her arms around him. Perhaps it was his mother, a sister, a girlfriend. She was holding him and would stay with him and help him, she had missed him very much. When Paarth came out of hypnosis, he was very happy. He said he had mixed feelings but mostly it was a sigh of relief. I felt that Paarth had just cured himself of the affliction he had had all those thirty-five years. As I shared these thoughts with him, he seemed excited and radiant. As he left, I felt joyous, sure that he had healed himself-and Raj-at a deep spiritual level.
Real Possession Stories: Paarth’s Fourth Session
Paarth returned to my office two weeks later for his fourth therapy session. He said that he was elated and his relationship with his wife improved substantially. However, Paarth said, “Yeah. When you mentioned spirits, it reminded me of what happened yesterday. We’re in the process of moving, and as I was loading my stuff from the garage, I started feeling over- whelmingly depressed. I could feel it drawing on me. When I left the house, I felt a little better. But I felt pursued all day.”
I asked him to elaborate.
“Nothing is right. Nothing is ever going to be right. Just a whole lot of negatives. After I left, I wondered if somebody had committed suicide in the garage. That would explain how down I felt.” I believe that we experience life at two levels-or more-simultaneously: at the conscious level and at a subconscious one-the inner mind. His subconscious mind would have been aware of discarnate and would have known a great deal about them. It certainly would have registered any impact they’d had on him. I suggested that we check out whether he had picked up one or more earthbound entities.
The Spirit of the Garage
Unlike real possession stories, I was addressing the entity who was attached to his aura. In addition, I also said if a loved one was present. The spirit answered that his wife had come. I performed a depossession therapy, and he apparently went with her into the Light. However, in the end, I was successful in helping Paarth through depossession therapy.
