Signs of Possession – Alcohol & Drug dependency
Apart from depression, drug and alcohol addiction are a major consequence of spirit possession. When the spirit has control over you, the behaviour transforms and it has total or partial control over you. It manipulates your brain into indulging in drugs or alcohol. However, it is very important to understand here is that the spirits do this to quench their thirst and end up harming you and your body. When a person is constantly under the influence of such vices, then the aura around him becomes very fragile. This allows a negative entity to easily enter your body and have full control. There is also a danger of multiple entries if a person’s aura is weak.
The spirit influences a person in such a way that the scope of reinvention is also nullified. Another of the signs of demonic possession. I once had a client who never did drugs, not even in college. But, after visiting a bar with friends one night, started smoking marijuana. His family told me that he never liked or did drugs but now got hooked on them. It took me four sessions for the spirit to actually let go of him. In most cases, it is very difficult to make the spirit leave the host’s body. Most addictive spirits are of a very rigid nature and they refuse to respond to anything.

Alcoholism signs of possession are very dangerous because patients tend to stop getting help and lose themselves to addiction. Many people lose their lives due to consuming alcohol beyond their limits and over a longer span of time. As far as drugs go, dependence destroys a person’s carrier. It also affects their relationships and ends up destroying their family lives. People go through divorces and end up becoming even more miserable. The depression increases and so does the drug intake. The increase in drug intake can also result in a drug overdose. A drug overdose can harm a person’s organs and can also kill him.
An Example of a client I worked with
I will now narrate the story of one of my clients who was exhibiting signs of spirit possession. One of my very own clients, let us call him “patient Y” for privacy reasons, escaped death by a very narrow margin. So patient Y was a trader in his mid-forties. He came to me for help because he had a drinking problem. He told me that he developed a drinking problem about six years ago after he got operated on for a kidney stone. When I put him under hypnosis, it was evident that he was possessed by a spirit who had a very tough life. The spirit also indicated that he lost a loved one that made him very sad. His last resort to forget the loss was to start drinking.
After a few days, I got a call from client Y asking for an immediate appointment. When we met, he looked absolutely dreadful. He seemed weak, his eyes were all swallowed and even his clothes looked very unclean. He sat down and told me that he had a very strange night. Last night he slept peacefully but when he woke up, he saw the bottle of scotch open and there was no liquor left in it. Further, he said that he remembered that the bottle was full when he went to sleep and now it has gone. He told me that he is fully sure that he was not the one who drank the liquor. Client Y was single so no one was there with him and his family lived in Agra.
When You Are Not Under Your Control
He also saw that there was a pack of sleeping pills in which two pills were missing. Y told me that he feels lucky enough to not consume the pills as he would have had serious health issues if he had done so. He then saw the calendar in my chamber and saw that the date was the 6th of February. His face became pale. He told me that he thought it was the 5th of February as he remembers going to sleep on the 4th night. Y slept for one full day and two nights. I told him that he was very lucky to survive as consumption of any more pills would have been fatal. After a successful depossession, the spirit left as we were able to convince him to leave.
Signs of Possession – Smoking Habits
Smoking or nicotine addiction is not a very dangerous effect of possession as it does not change how you think or behave. However, smoking does have long-term effects on your body and can cause major health issues in the longer run. I have been involved with patients who are suffering from lung cancer but still can’t give up smoking.
People say that the urge to smoke is more than just a fixation. It drives you. Your fingers want to hold the cigarette and one cannot stop unless they bump one in the mouth. Another thing that needs to be addressed here is that the spirit does not care about the person it has possessed. It does not care if the person has cancer or if he has health problems. The spirit wants what it wants. After a successful depossession, most of the patients no longer have the urge to smoke.
Signs of Possession – Obesity & Weight Issues
Obesity is one of the most common problems that therapists face. By therapists, I mean both physical and psychological. As far as obesity goes, it is related to the person being overweight and brings a lot of problems with itself. Now, I will not go on to say that all the people with obesity have been possessed or they are obese because some spirit has taken over their body. But, there have been several cases where people have been possessed and it has to lead them to consume food materials in such a way that they gain a lot of weight.
Obesity is a big issue has it can damage a person’s health as per paranormal experts in Chennai, India. Heart and Blood pressure issues are the most common aspects of obesity. Young kids suffer from diabetes due to this and it affects their life in more than one way. I have had patients who could not give up on unhealthy food due to being possessed by an entity. The spirits not only make people eat a lot but also makes people shy away from doing exercise. These kinds of possessions usually arise after a person is hospitalized for some treatment or they have recently lost someone very close to them.
Another example of a client that I worked with
Aman, a young man in his mid-thirties, was very happy as his long-term obsession with sweets was alleviated after a session with me. He was very happy as he could now follow a proper weight loss regime. When I met him afterwards, he told me that he was no longer interested in consuming sweets.
Another client of mine said that one morning, she thought that it was high time for her to have a proper diet plan. She was looking to get committed to eating only good foods as she wanted to get back in shape. She said that she heard a voice in her head say “ I won’t let you stop eating”. The spirit was inside her for a very long time and was dictating terms. She could not stop consuming junk even if she wanted to.
The client also expressed that she had started to loath herself every time she ate something dirty. However, the spirit went after we conducted a successful depossession. The woman no longer had the urge to cram junk.
Signs of Possession – Relationship Issues
People experience issues in relationships when it comes to possession. A possessed person acts and behaves differently than he used to as per a paranormal expert in Chennai, India. The voice inside him dictates the terms and he no longer behaves like himself. This is due to the involvement of another entity.
One of my patients, a young woman in her mid-twenties, got married to her boyfriend, whom she knew for the last 3 years. However, after marriage things changed. The woman who was all in love with the guy started to behave differently. She started to get violent and hurled abuses even after small disagreements.
The husband could not take it anymore and file for divorce. He said that it was too much for him and could not understand why the woman who loved him so much became so violent with him. Thanks to the almighty that the guy found out about me and brought his wife for an appointment. After successful depossession, we found out that the woman was possessed by the spirit of a woman who was also abused by her husband and died by suicide. This was a classic case of a vengeful spirit trying to destroy someone else’s life because it could not have one of its own.
Signs of Possession – Sexual Problems
A lot of spirits out there were old when they passed away. Therefore, sexual problems too could be signs of spirit possession. With age, comes a plethora of mental and physical problems. People start to have a diminished sexual drive with age. Sexual problems are something these spirits bring with them when they enter a person’s body. Young people start having sexual dysfunctions after they get possessed by a spirit. There are instances when the spirit stops a person from even engaging in intercourse.
In ancient times some people even are of the belief that homosexuality is a case of possession. When a spirit of the opposite sex takes control of a human being then people start to engage in sexual activity involving the same sex. However, I find this inference weak as it is highly improbable that both the parties are under possession at the same time of having sexual intercourse.
Another example of one of my clients
One of my clients, a man in his mid-thirties, was experiencing sexual problems after he was under treatment for a broken wrist in the hospital. When the man returned from the hospital, he started to have sexual problems which he did not have before. After going through his prescription, I found out that he was not given any kind of steroids during treatment. Hence, the chances of developing a reaction were negated. During the next few sessions, we figured out that he was possessed by an elderly man, in his eighties, who died due to heart failure in the same hospital in which my patient was admitted. The spirit left after some convincing.
When the man came to me for his second appointment, he seemed very happy. He told me that he was very happy as he felt a great change in himself. There were no problems and he was feeling great returning to his normal. Even I felt a sense of happiness as I was able to help a young man live his life to the fullest. As paranormal investigators, all we seek is satisfaction in what we do and making our clients happy.
There have been instances where I was working with clients who were under the possession of spirits of the opposite sex. And it made them act and behave in a way that was really embarrassing for them and their family. Depossession helped many and they were free from most of their problems.

Lastly, these cases were some of the cases that I chose from the list of clients that I had worked with. I am sure that the examples have thrown more light on the signs of possession. I am not saying that everyone with addiction or sexual problems is under possession. Problems can also arise due to just mental issues. A person can also get depressed due to some other reason and then start indulging in drugs or alcohol.
Some people do alcohol and drugs just for recreational purposes and they don’t fall into the category of possessed people. I am talking about extreme cases here. I am talking about the people who have detested these vices their entire lives and then start doing them without any motive or reason. Their aim is to destroy themselves physically and mentally by submitting themselves to drugs and liquor.
When you experience biological or emotional disturbances, please consult a medical practitioner first. After all, paranormal is all about negating every single scientific possibility first. Remember you have to remain a healthy sceptic if you want to be a paranormal investigator. I have met so many clients who were suffering from personality disorders, other addictive issues claiming to have possession issues and 99% of them did not have any possession issues.
My advice to you
Please remember that any physical or emotional discomforts a person experiences can mostly be due to various diseases or emotional conditions he or she is going through. I have seen that majority of cases do not involve paranormal activity of any kind. Paranormal events are extremely rare occurrences. Hence your problems should be first brought to the notice of a qualified medical practitioner. I have often seen that the line between borderline personality disorders or other psychiatric disorders and “spirit possession” is thin. Hence a good paranormal investigator should advise his clients that professional medical care is the first solution or remedy for any physical or emotional discomfort.
Remember, you need to be a sceptic first to develop into a paranormal investigator. You need to rule out every single scientific possibility that is known to mankind to identify anything that is paranormal. Hence travel through the path of modern science, explore and unravel all facts using data and what cannot be explained through science is what we need to explore more through the paranormal arena. Most of your clients may feel desperate due to whatever they are going through. It’s your duty to act responsibly. Guide them through the path of modern science. Refrain from being a doctor or healer. There are qualified medical practitioners out there who can do their job well. Avoid any forms of advice on religious or cultural rituals or for that matter any ritualistic practices.
