Did you know that there are different paranormal activity level that a paranormal expert determines in his investigations? Well, before we get into how we conduct an actual investigation, this excerpt will be like a guide. This guide will help you determine the level of activity you experience during an investigation. As you are aware by now, we are a team of paranormal consultants and investigators in Chennai, India under the leadership of Mr Praveen Saanker. So, let’s dive right in!
Paranormal Activity Level
The system to determine the different levels of supernatural activity was developed by United Paranormal International. It was a measure to help a paranormal expert and their investigating teams to work under the same guidelines. So, what is the use of this system? Well, this system, also called PAL in short, is used for the preliminary assignment of activity level/cause based on client reports or pre-investigation interviews. It is also to be used for your post-investigation final assignment of activity or cause. One important point to note here is that the level of activity can change once the investigation results are completed.
Paranormal Activity Level 1
Under level 1 comes personal experiences that include sounds, odours, or touching. Since this is the lowest level of paranormal activity, it is usually non-dangerous and nonthreatening. Such paranormal activities may include vague and nebulous sounds. Oftentimes, it also includes knocks and bangs and unexplained chill sprees or cold breezes. If you have a sensation that someone is watching you or you experience light touching, it also comes under this level. It also consists of other non-threatening activities such as the recording of typical EVPs.
Paranormal Activity Level 2
The second level includes instances of elevated physical contact like someone grabbing or pushing the resident. In addition, it also includes unexplained scratches, voices, or odours. Manifestations also come under the second level of paranormal activity. If others also witness the activity; and there are EVP recordings that are direct, or of a threatening nature, it falls under this level. Activity may include physical objects changing places, such as objects in their normal place later found somewhere else. This is the type of activity that causes the hair on your arms or the back of your neck to stand up. Some even call it the heebie-jeebies, for lack of a better term. We have already discussed what shadow people are and they also fall under this category.
Paranormal Activity Level 3
The supernatural starts getting as real as it can get from this level. It comprises of physical objects changing places and that too heavy item. And it also includes physical contact which may consist of attacking or threatening. It is mostly violent or sometimes sexual in nature.
Paranormal Activity Level 4
Probably at the most dangerous level, it includes potential signs of preternatural activity. Instances of levitation or unexplained exhibitions of strength fall under this category. If you hear voices speaking in unknown tongues or imparting unexplained knowledge, make sure that you are aware. It is often very personal in nature. Like talking about someone (retrocognition) or about future events (precognition). Possession comes under this category. If a person has black or bulging almost sharklike eyes and they don’t seem to be blinking for long period, you know what to do.
Oftentimes, in paranormal activity level 4, the person may exhibit extreme bodily rigidity. While at other times even then people can’t or won’t be able to lift or move an affected person. These are general indicators of preternatural activity. And the important thing to note is that it does not include other indicators. These indicators can be certain smells or behavioural changes. It also includes sounds that we can link with this activity, such as growling or raspy breathing.
Special Exception
Paranormal Activity Level CI: This level includes children who are directly under the effect of any of the aforementioned levels. And when it comes to this level, it takes immediate priority over any level other than levels 3 or 4.
An important point to note here is that when it comes to children or poltergeist activity, it is quite tricky. The reason behind this is that it can appear to exhibit some of the characteristics of all the aforesaid categories. Therefore, it can be very difficult to identify. Hence, when it comes to this special case, I highly recommend that one should call a qualified person, such as a parapsychologist, for assistance if a paranormal expert suspects a poltergeist activity.
A Word of Warning
Paranormal Activity level 3 or 4 requires a lot of determination and classification. A paranormal expert cannot just carry out a single investigation to determine this paranormal activity. Many investigations may be required to verify claims and conduct inquiries.
Therefore, paranormal activity level 3 and 4 can be highly dangerous. So, if you are not a paranormal expert with a lot of experience, leave it as soon as possible. This is not a task for a casual “trying to act like an investigator” kind of person. Even experienced investigators don’t like getting involved in such cases. It is better left to a qualified person, such as a demonologist for the final determination.
Investigation Conclusions
The proper procedure to determine a paranormal activity level also includes concluding what you found. Therefore, once an investigation is complete, post your conclusions and actions. If you took any follow-up investigations, write about it in the comment section of your after-action report.
